Da Nang has established a city Arts Theatre by merging Trung Vuong Theatre and the Da Nang Traditional Arts Theatre. Van Hoa reported that the new public institution comes under the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Establishment and operating functions
City chairman Nguyen Manh Hung signed Decision 4694/QD-UBND creating the theatre and Decision 4695/QD-UBND defining its functions, responsibilities, powers and organisational structure.
Its work includes performances for city activities and programmes meeting residents' cultural, artistic and entertainment needs. Preserving and promoting traditional performing arts remains an explicit responsibility within the merged institution.
The theatre will also provide public services and develop artistic products connected with cultural industries and cultural tourism. Performing arts activities can serve assigned public information duties as well as its specialist artistic programme.
Management and internal structure
The municipal culture, sports and tourism department exercises direct and comprehensive management. The national Department of Performing Arts provides professional guidance under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The theatre has legal status, its own seal and account, and premises in accordance with regulations. Its leadership comprises a director and deputy directors. The director is accountable to the municipal department head and under the law for the institution's assigned functions and powers.
The internal structure is limited to a maximum of six specialist departments or performing troupes. Establishing or reorganising them must follow applicable rules and guidance from the competent authorities.
The announcement sets out the merged institution's administrative framework and artistic responsibilities. Leadership appointments, transfers and employment-related policies continue under existing regulations and delegated management arrangements.
