Director Quang Dung says AI could reduce production costs for his animated film “The gioi tran trui” by an estimated 60–70%, equivalent to tens of billions of dong. Developed from an idea he has held for more than 20 years, the film is planned for cinemas in 2027.
He stresses that people remain responsible for creative direction, writing, character design and storyboards. The team has completed the script and designs and is preparing animation, with AI supporting parts of production. The savings estimate is the director's assessment, not independently audited cost data; the film is not yet completed or released.
