Phu Quang’s three children have discussed taking over the management of their father’s musical legacy while preparing the programme Con mai mot tinh yeu. Znews reported on 5 September that the family confirmed the transition on 4 September, with pianist Nguyen Trinh Huong taking the management role.

Three roles within one project

For the programme, Nguyen Trinh Huong is responsible for artistic direction and the overall approach. Nguyen Giang Huong is involved in editing, developing the content and production. Nguyen Phu Vuong handles visual design and the presentation’s visual language.

Those responsibilities turn the idea of preserving a legacy into practical work. The music is not only being maintained as a catalogue: it is being prepared for audiences through choices about repertoire, performance and stage presentation.

Familiar voices and different arrangements

Znews said the planned programme includes Bao Yen, Thanh Lam and Tan Minh, artists associated with Phu Quang’s music. Tran Nhat Minh will conduct its symphonic component, while Tran Viet Anh is responsible for arrangements with a more contemporary approach.

The project places those approaches alongside each other, drawing on the instrumental depth of the compositions while considering how to introduce familiar songs to present-day listeners.

As preparations develop, the next details to follow are the final programme and how the songs are presented. The event date, venue and ticket arrangements should come from announcements by the organisers when those particulars are released.
