The Vietnam Festival of Creativity and Design returns to Ho Chi Minh City from September 21 to 27 with the theme Song.Tao. Organised by RMIT Vietnam, the seventh edition will feature nearly 40 events and marks a shift to a biennial schedule after six annual editions from 2019 to 2024.
Nina Next Space in Xom Chieu ward will be the main venue, supported by other creative locations around the city. The programme also includes field research in the Mekong Delta. The wider setting is intended to connect design discussions with places and communities beyond the exhibition space.
Five strands bring together the Song.Tao exhibition, a forum on the future of creative festivals, Living Laboratories, Circular Design Week and VNx discussions on creative education. The exhibition is expected to present more than 25 projects by over 75 creators, while satellite activities include tours, workshops and performances for the public.
Organisers hope the event will create opportunities for artists, designers, researchers, students and businesses to meet. This year's theme treats creativity as a process continually shaped through interaction. The programme aims to offer immediate experiences during the festival week while supporting professional and research connections that can continue afterwards.
