Goalkeeper Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc called up to Vietnam U23 squad
Song Lam Nghe An goalkeeper Nguyen Bao Ngoc has joined Vietnam's under-23 Asian Games squad. He replaces Pham Dinh Hai, who is staying with his club for the National Cup because it is short of goalkeepers.
Bao Ngoc previously started for Vietnam's under-17 side and appeared in under-19 and under-20 squads. The call-up offers further international experience.
VFF plans for the team to assemble on September 12 and travel to Japan on September 13. Group C matches are against Kuwait on September 15, the Philippines on September 18 and Uzbekistan on September 22.
