Princess Diana’s famous black dress heads to auction
Sotheby's plans to auction Princess Diana's black Christina Stambolian dress in New York on December 9. VnExpress, citing CNN, reported an upper estimate of about US$300,000.
Known as the “revenge dress,” it became famous after Diana wore it to a London charity event in 1994. Displays in London, Hong Kong and Geneva are planned before the sale.
Part of the proceeds will support NHS Lothian Charity. The dress was previously sold in Diana's 1997 charity auction, and the new sale price will only be known after bidding concludes.
