Eighteen members of Vietnam's women's U17 squad for the 2027 Asian qualifiers came through VFF's youth development teams, the federation reported on 12 October. Coach Okiyama Masahiko praised their technical foundations, tactical adaptability and ability to sustain intensity. He called for continued development of a shared training approach, alongside physical and psychological preparation. He sees the youth development teams as a continuing source of players for national squads and clubs.
