Thirty-two European women's teams enter two play-off rounds for the remaining 2027 World Cup places, FIFA reports, with Germany, Denmark, France and Spain already qualified. First-round ties take place on October 9 and 13. The seven second-round winners with the highest overall qualifying rankings will qualify directly for Brazil, while the eighth winner must enter the intercontinental play-off tournament in February 2027. Winning both European rounds therefore does not guarantee every successful team an automatic finals berth.
