O Lam commune in An Giang held a Chinese chess tournament marking the International Day of Older Persons, with 22 competitors. Van Hoa reported that entrants were divided into ages 16–44 and 45-plus to support suitable community competition.
After one day of play, a representative of O Lam Secondary School won the younger group, while a player from Ta Miet hamlet won the older group. Organizers also awarded other placings, supporting local participation in mind sports.
