Miguel Solarte's 91st-minute finish gave Slavia Prague a 1-0 UEFA Youth League victory over Arsenal U19. Arsenal's official reports describe a close match in which both teams had chances before the hosts found the decisive breakthrough.
The defeat leaves Arsenal outside the top 22 with two league-phase fixtures remaining. Coach David Horseman nevertheless praised an improved performance compared with the club's 5-1 loss in the same fixture in 2025.
Goalkeepers keep the contest level
Andre Harriman-Annous threatened for Arsenal, directing one attempt at Ondrej Suchy and seeing a deflected effort gathered close to the line. Jack Porter made an important save at the other end, pushing Jakub Kolisek's shot onto the post before Matěj Kotrba missed the rebound.
After half-time, substitute Mylo Bernard created an opening for Ceadach O'Neill, who shot over. O'Neill later supplied Marli Salmon for a touch towards goal that Suchy turned wide.
Qualification race continues
Solarte eventually found room to shoot beyond Porter. Horseman told the club that Arsenal's positioning at a throw-in and a couple of lost duels had proved costly.
Arsenal entered the match with four points from three games: a victory over Napoli, a 3-2 loss to Lille and a 3-3 draw with Bayern Munich. The top 22 advance alongside ten winners from the domestic champions path.
Their next Youth League match is at home to Borussia Dortmund at Meadow Park on November 24, scheduled for 14:00 UK time. Horseman has identified that fixture as a game Arsenal need to win.
