Barcelona head into Clásico week nursing a fresh wound. Hansi Flick's side lost 4-2 to PSG in the Champions League league phase, their first defeat of the 2026-2027 season and the end of a perfect start, SGGP reports. Captain Raphinha insists the setback in Paris will not disrupt their preparations for Real Madrid, but Barça's injury list has grown again with Dani Olmo.

Raphinha: losing to PSG is no disaster

According to SGGP, Raphinha stressed that Barcelona went toe to toe with a side that have been European champions two years running, in a hostile atmosphere away from home. He called the game a useful test, said it showed his team can compete with the very best, and promised the squad would listen to Flick's assessment and work on what went wrong. After all, he said, they had only dropped three points.

There was one positive: Raphinha himself was back in the starting XI and finished the game without any physical problems. The Brazilian said he had trained for less than a week beforehand, had been meant to play limited minutes, and is still working on his fitness.

Olmo out for a month as the list grows

Bongda24h reports that Barcelona's website has confirmed an adductor injury for Dani Olmo, who faces around a month out. The Spanish midfielder was hurt in the first half against PSG, his 100th game for the club, and was replaced by Fermín López. As well as the Clásico, Olmo is set to miss games against Alavés and Atlético Madrid in La Liga and Aston Villa in the Champions League, with a return possible after the November international break.

According to Bongda24h, Fermín López could start in midfield alongside Rodri and Pedri against Real Madrid.

Seven lessons from Paris

Bongdaplus lists seven problems Barcelona must fix before the Clásico. The most striking was ball losses: Pedri gave the ball away three times in the first 5 minutes, and two of the other goals Barcelona conceded also came from turnovers in midfield. PSG had 15 shots on target, something Bongdaplus says no opponent had managed against Barcelona in 10 years, while Barcelona managed only 5 on target from 18 attempts.

The magazine also argues that Barcelona erred by getting drawn into an end-to-end game, and that leaving Rodri on the bench was hard to understand: by the time he and Gavi came on in the second half it was too late. Barcelona also conceded from a corner, with Lucas Hernández heading PSG into a 2-1 lead. In Bongdaplus's view, the defensive weakness is now there for Real Madrid to see.

La Liga context: still perfect at home

Defeat in Paris does not change Barcelona's domestic form. According to VnExpress, Barça lead La Liga with a perfect 27 points and 39 goals after 9 rounds, with 19-year-old Lamine Yamal contributing 8 goals and 6 assists. In the 5-2 win at Betis on 17 October, Yamal opened the scoring and set up Gabriel Jesus.

That match has just had a disciplinary sequel. On 21 October the Spanish football federation's (RFEF) disciplinary committee banned Betis midfielder Facundo Bernal for four games for grabbing Yamal by the neck and headbutting him, VnExpress reports. It is the minimum penalty under Article 103.1 of the RFEF disciplinary code. Betis say they will appeal, and sporting director Manu Fajardo was banned for two games and fined.

What comes next

Barcelona host Real Madrid at Camp Nou in the Clásico this weekend, according to Bongda24h. After that come Alavés and Atlético Madrid in La Liga and Aston Villa in the Champions League, all of which Olmo is expected to miss, per Bongda24h. Koundé's fitness is the one to watch before kick-off.
