The Basketball Champions League has named its Week 2 team following eight Tuesday and Wednesday games. FIBA lists Michael Forrest, Akwasi Yeboah, Joe Wieskamp, J'Wan Roberts and Adama Sanogo, with a separate fan vote to determine Player of the Week.
Five performances earn selection
Forrest scored 25 points in 20 minutes as Murcia beat Bamberg 86-67 after trailing by 12 in the first half. He made four of five three-point attempts.
Yeboah supplied 22 points, six rebounds and two steals in Trabzonspor's 100-83 win over Sabah. Wieskamp recorded 19 points and eight rebounds as ALBA Berlin beat Igokea 90-79, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter.
Roberts contributed 15 points and 12 rebounds in 23 minutes as Nanterre defeated Rytas Vilnius 93-65.
Sanogo achieves a competition milestone
Sanogo had 28 points and five blocks in Holon's 86-84 victory over Spartak Subotica. FIBA identifies him as the first player with at least 25 points and five blocks in one BCL game.
His efficiency rating of 29 was the highest cited for the week. Holon also ended a seven-game losing sequence, although that does not itself settle the individual award.
The vote winner is due to be announced through the competition's social-media accounts on Friday. Gytis Radzevicius is recorded as the previous week's winner.
Selection in the five-player team is consequently distinct from winning the Week 2 vote. The completed match statistics provide the sporting basis, with the individual result still pending.
