Nguyen Quoc Nguyen defeated fellow Vietnamese player Dao Van Ly 3-2 in the last 16 of the PBA Tour in South Korea on October 10. Quoc Nguyen took the opening set 15-3 before Van Ly replied with a 15-2 win. They split the next two sets to force a decider, which Quoc Nguyen won 11-2 to reach the quarter-finals. Thanh Nien reported that David Zapata, David Martinez and five South Korean players also advanced.
