Cao Bang brought its experience of heritage education and community partnerships to a regional geoparks conference in Malaysia from September 7 to 10. Bao Van Hoa reported that the delegation attended the ninth APGN conference at Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark.
Two presentations from the Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark management board focused on school clubs that help students explore heritage, the preservation of ethnic minority languages and a network of tourism partners. These initiatives connect conservation work with people living within the geopark.
At the destination display, the delegation introduced four visitor routes alongside handicrafts, local specialities and OCOP products. Performances on the tinh lute also helped present the area's culture to an international audience.
The conference drew around 590 delegates from 22 countries and featured approximately 190 presentations. Beyond the formal sessions, the Cao Bang group joined field visits in Langkawi and met representatives of China's Leye-Fengshan Geopark.
The visit combined destination promotion with an exchange of approaches to heritage management and community-based tourism. By discussing local projects and practical experience, the delegation presented more than scenery: it showed how education, cultural traditions and partnerships contribute to the geopark's work.
