Michael Carrick has explained Manchester United's fitness decisions involving Ayden Heaven, Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez at Leeds.
The club's official update says Heaven was ill, Rashford was being managed through a physical issue and Martinez came off after feeling a problem in his thigh.
Changes from the midweek team
Heaven and Rashford had both started on the left side against Atletico Madrid during the week, but neither began the 1-1 draw at Elland Road.
Harry Maguire returned to a reshaped defence. Leny Yoro moved to right-back, with Diogo Dalot switching to the left.
Rashford was available on the bench but did not enter the match. Carrick described that decision in terms of managing his condition, rather than announcing a permanent change in his role.
Martinez replaced at half-time
Martinez could not continue after the interval. Noussair Mazraoui replaced him, returning from his own injury absence.
Mazraoui played centrally while Yoro remained at full-back. United completed the match with that arrangement after Bryan Mbeumo's opener had been cancelled out by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Carrick has not announced a detailed diagnosis or a confirmed return date for any of the three players.
The club says further information could be provided before Wednesday's Champions League trip to Como. Until then, the update establishes the reasons for the Leeds selections and substitution without confirming how long any player may be unavailable.
