Vietnam's badminton team entered ASIAD 20 with six players in singles and doubles, without registering for the team events. Nguyen Thuy Linh is the leading women's singles player and Nguyen Hai Dang heads the men's singles group; Nguyen Dinh Hoang and Tran Dinh Manh form the men's pair, while Pham Thi Khanh and Pham Thi Dieu Ly play women's doubles.
At the time of publication, Thuy Linh was ranked 32nd in the world, Hai Dang 79th, the men's pair 99th and the women's pair 85th. The singles and doubles draw was scheduled for September 24, so first opponents were not yet known. The rankings are time-specific figures, not permanent standings.
