Frederic Caudron is absent from the confirmed field for the Yanggu billiards World Cup in South Korea, Thanh Nien reported on October 17. The event is scheduled for November 2–8, with fifteen Vietnamese players entered.
The list establishes his absence but does not provide a current explanation confirmed by the Belgian player. Speculation about personal circumstances therefore remains separate from an official reason.
A prominent omission
The report cites a September 6 UMB Events ranking placing Caudron eighth, a position ordinarily carrying direct entry to the 32-player main draw.
He returned to the UMB system in May 2024, initially entering early qualifying in Ho Chi Minh City. He subsequently won the 2025 world championship in Belgium and defeated Chiem Hong Thai in the May 2026 Ho Chi Minh City World Cup final.
Those earlier achievements explain interest in the new entry list rather than constituting results from the forthcoming Yanggu tournament.
Vietnam's different starting stages
Bao Phuong Vinh, Chiem Hong Thai and Tran Thanh Luc receive direct main-draw places, listed eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth respectively.
Tran Quyet Chien starts in final qualifying. Nguyen Chi Long and Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu enter the third qualifying stage, while Pham Quoc Thuan, Le Thanh Tien, Nguyen Dinh Quoc and Nguyen Hoan Tat begin in the second.
Lam Han Thanh, Do Nguyen Trung Hau, Nguyen Nhu Le, Truong Huynh Quoc Dat and Pham Van Son start in the opening stage. The announced entries establish preparation and starting positions; competitive outcomes remain ahead in November.
