Coco Gauff’s 2026 season includes the Cincinnati title and another WTA Finals qualification. In its 2 November analysis, Sài Gòn Giải Phóng examined her serve after work with biomechanics specialist Gavin MacMillan as a central part of that campaign.

Established results before the season finale

Gauff beat Jessica Pegula 6–2, 6–4 in the Cincinnati final for her fourth career WTA 1000 title. The report said she lost just one set during that tournament, against Liudmila Samsonova in the second round. The result contributed to a fifth consecutive WTA Finals appearance.

The review also listed finals in Miami and Rome and semi-finals at Wimbledon and the US Open. These are earlier season results, not matches newly played on the article’s publication date.

Its comparison between double-fault difficulties at the 2025 US Open and her New York performance a year later is the author’s technical assessment. It does not establish one adjustment as the sole cause of every subsequent result.

Recovering within difficult matches

The US Open quarter-final against Mirra Andreeva provides another example. Gauff won 2–6, 7–6, 6–2 after saving two match points in the second-set tie-break. SGGP also cited WTA statistics recording 42 unforced errors, so the victory was not a performance without mistakes.

Gauff’s comments about retaining self-belief add a psychological dimension to the serve and movement discussion. They are not a general training prescription.

The next competitive context is the WTA Finals place she has earned. Another title is an objective discussed in the analysis; Cincinnati and qualification are the confirmed achievements described in this review.
