Bùi Cao Ngọc Quỳnh, the daughter of Novaland founder Bùi Thành Nhơn, has registered to buy 30 million shares in No Va Land Investment Group Corporation (Novaland, ticker NVL) to raise her stake, VnExpress reported on 28 October. The purchase is planned between 2 and 13 November 2026.
If completed, her holding will rise to 38.31 million shares, taking her from 0.35% to 1.59% of charter capital. It follows several recent moves by parties linked to the founder's family to raise their NVL holdings.
Registered trades at a glance
The table below compiles the NVL share transactions reported by VnExpress, covering both the founding family and senior management:
| Shareholder | Role | Trade | Registered volume (shares) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bùi Cao Ngọc Quỳnh | Daughter of Bùi Thành Nhơn | Buy | 30 million |
| Diamond Properties | Major shareholder in the founder's group of companies | Buy | 7 million |
| Cao Thị Ngọc Sương | Wife of Bùi Thành Nhơn | Sell | 6.3 million |
| Dương Văn Bắc | CEO of Novaland | Sell | more than 10.63 million |
| Trần Thị Thanh Vân | Deputy CEO | Sell | about 7.58 million |
| Cao Trần Duy Nam | Deputy CEO | Sell | about 7.58 million |
If its purchase goes through, Diamond Properties could hold more than 185.44 million shares, or 7.72% of charter capital. Ms Sương registered her sale to meet personal needs.
Taken together, the family group plans net purchases of 30.7 million shares. According to VnExpress, if the trades are completed the group's combined stake will be above 41%, a level that keeps it clear of a scenario in which it loses its veto power at Novaland.
On the other side, the three executives registered their sales for personal reasons. If they sell everything registered, their combined holding is expected to fall to about 20.49 million shares, or about 0.85% of capital.
Share price and fundraising plan
Since early October, NVL has hovered just above its par value. On 27 October it closed at 10,550 dong, 20% lower than at the start of 2026 and close to half of its peak for the year, reached in late April.
Novaland recently announced a plan to offer more than 800 million shares to existing shareholders to raise 8,000 billion dong, which will go towards repaying bond debt at the company itself and at subsidiary level. VnExpress said it would be the first time in five years that the developer has raised capital from its shareholders.
What comes next
Ms Quỳnh's purchase window will run from 2 to 13 November 2026. The above-41% level cited by VnExpress depends on all of the family's registered purchases and sales being completed. VnExpress did not give a timetable for the offering of more than 800 million shares to existing shareholders.
