Đồng Lan has released ORCHID hoa lan, a music video launched on October 19 that uses orchid imagery to explore women's bodies and emotions. She says the work encourages self-respect, confidence and autonomy rather than a fixed model of strength.
Music meets a three-dimensional environment
Virtual-reality artist MinHang and creative director Shizen, also known as Nhi Ngờ, collaborated on the project. Its visual journey moves through three spaces toward imagery inside a mother's womb. Viewers can access it on phones and computers or through a VR headset.
For the singer, the message concerns listening to personal feelings and making individual choices. She does not frame empowerment as an obligation to confront men or conform to one ideal. The orchid serves as an artistic means of approaching women's inner lives.
Redmoon and her musical path
The release belongs to Redmoon, a charitable project developed during her years in Paris. According to the artist's announcement, digital-music revenue will go to the fund bearing that name. This states the project's intended use of proceeds, rather than independently verified completed donations.
Đồng Lan won a northern Vietnamese French-singing competition in 2008, moved to Ho Chi Minh City in 2010 and attracted attention on The Voice Vietnam in 2012. She later studied jazz at the American School of Modern Music in Paris in 2019 and released the Trịnh Công Sơn jazz album Này em có nhớ.
Her Đừng yêu một mình received a 2021 Berlin Music Video Awards nomination. This year's releases continue her focus on emotional themes after seven years living and working abroad.
