Vietnam held its first training session in Bandung on September 24 ahead of its FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 opener. Coach Kim Sang Sik increased the workload and length of the session while refining tactics for a squad that includes new players.

Captain Nguyen Hoang Duc said his recovery from injury was improving after more than three weeks, but he was still unable to train normally with the full team. Vietnam is scheduled to face the Philippines on September 26 at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.
