On September 23 at Aichi Budokan, Dương Thúy Vi competed in the women’s jianshu and qiangshu all-around at the 20th Asian Games. She scored 9.703 in jianshu to sit fourth, then 9.710 in qiangshu. Her combined 19.413 placed her third overall and earned Vietnam a bronze medal.
It was Thúy Vi’s fourth consecutive Asian Games medal, following gold in 2014 and bronzes in 2018 and 2023. China’s Yao Yang won gold and Japan’s Kida Nanoha took silver. The sword and spear routines formed one all-around event, so the result represents one bronze medal.
