Florence Pugh credits Tom Holland for Spider-Man role
Florence Pugh said on “The Tonight Show” that Tom Holland helped bring her Marvel character Yelena Belova into “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” Variety reports that Holland had publicly expressed an interest in working with Pugh, generating fan enthusiasm for the pairing.

Pugh has played Yelena since 2021's “Black Widow” and returned in subsequent Marvel films. “Brand New Day” opened on July 31. Her comments offer a behind-the-scenes account of an already released film, rather than an initial casting announcement for an unreleased project.
