Vietnam's women's futsal team began training on 2 November with a 16-player squad ahead of two home friendlies against New Zealand. VFF said head coach Huỳnh Thị Thanh Khiết will use the camp to assess the players, with particular attention to younger and newly introduced members.
The games are planned for 12 and 14 November at the Thái Sơn Nam arena in Ho Chi Minh City. The start of training and the personnel assessment add new substance to the previously announced friendly programme.
New players join an established base
The squad contains three goalkeepers and 13 outfield players, mainly drawn from Thái Sơn Nam Ho Chi Minh City and the Thống Nhất sports centre. VFF highlights H Thư Buôn Krông and Bùi Thị Hồng Hạnh from Thái Sơn Nam, along with Nguyễn Huỳnh Như from Thống Nhất, among the new faces.
Bongda24h also reports the emphasis on rejuvenating the squad and identifying potential additions for the future. For those players, the camp offers an opportunity to show how they fit into the national side.
Assessment beyond the scoreline
Thanh Khiết views matches against tactically capable opposition as a source of international experience. They should also reveal strengths and limitations that can guide subsequent work, rather than being judged only by the final scores.
Training followed by two meetings with the same opponent gives the staff a way to monitor adaptation and progress. New Zealand are expected to arrive from 7 November, before the scheduled games on 12 and 14 November. Further national-side developments can be followed through Vietnam national team fixtures.
