Golf at Vietnam’s 2026 National Games is scheduled for 23–28 November at Vinpearl Golf Léman in Ho Chi Minh City, with four medal events. Sài Gòn Giải Phóng reported the programme’s announcement in Hanoi on 2 November, with results also determining the 21st national golf championship titles.
Individual results shape the team stage
Men and women play three individual rounds of 18 holes, totalling 54 holes without a cut. The lowest actual stroke total wins gold. Supplementary reports from Vietnam’s sports authority and Thanh Niên also describe the absence of handicaps.
Those individual results are used to select and seed the leading eight teams in each category for knockout match play. Men’s team ties contain three singles matches and women’s ties two.
The format gives individual scoring a second consequence beyond personal medals: it affects entry and position in the later team competition. Delegations therefore need to prepare for both cumulative stroke totals and direct match-play contests.
Expected entrants and a wider medal role
SGGP said the field includes professionals from the VGA Tour system and amateurs with national-team experience. The 2025 individual champions, Nguyễn Tuấn Anh and Lê Chúc An, are expected to participate, which remains different from a final starting list.
Thanh Niên and Văn Hóa also highlighted the addition of the team events as the championship joins the National Games medal programme for the first time. Results will therefore count for the delegations represented by the golfers as well as the national titles.
The next steps are confirming the field and beginning play on 23 November. Actual individual standings will then establish the team seeds before the scheduled finish on 28 November.
