Ha Noi FC beat Cong an Ha Noi 2-1 at Hang Day on October 18, taking the defending champions off the top of the 2026-27 V-League table.

VnExpress reported that Cong an Ha Noi remained on nine points, one behind Ninh Binh. Ha Noi FC climbed to eighth with six points after a second consecutive victory.

Strong start for Kewell's side

Kevin Felida, Iuval Sade and Do Hung Dung helped Ha Noi FC establish an early foothold in midfield. Harry Kewell's team were without the injured Do Hoang Hen but created several opportunities.

Nguyen Filip saved Nguyen Van Tung's near-post effort in the 18th minute. Pham Xuan Manh then opened the scoring from the corner that followed.

Van Tung struck the post in the 21st minute, and Hung Dung missed another close-range opportunity a minute later. Cong an Ha Noi struggled to connect their midfield and attack during that spell.

Quick answer to Artur's equaliser

Nguyen Dinh Bac came on after the interval and helped create the opening for Leo Artur to equalise in the 46th minute with a shot from around 20 metres.

Ha Noi FC restored their lead three minutes later. Aymeric Faurand-Tournaire released Sade down the right, and Van Tung met the delivery with a close-range finish.

Cong an Ha Noi subsequently focused much of their attacking play down the left through Artur and Dinh Bac. They could not turn that pressure into a clear equalising opportunity.

Ha Noi FC's persistent pressing helped protect the lead and continued their recovery from a difficult start to the season. Cong an Ha Noi now trail Ninh Binh by one point after four rounds.
