Two continental champions
Naegohyang qualified by winning the 2025/26 AFC Women's Champions League, taking eight victories in nine matches and beating Tokyo Verdy Beleza in May's final. Auckland United secured their third successive Oceania crown in July. The New Zealand club appeared in the inaugural Champions Cup but lost 1-0 to Wuhan Jiangda in round one. The Hangzhou winner will meet Africa's champions in December, with the date and venue for that next fixture still to be announced.
The route to Miami
The final phase is scheduled for late January at Nu Stadium, Inter Miami's home. Barcelona, Club América and the Libertadores Femenina winners are also part of the competition's route to the title. The tournament brings together all six continental club champions. It is separate from the Women's Club World Cup, which is planned to launch in early 2028, and takes place in years without that event. Arsenal won the first edition by defeating Corinthians after extra time in London on 1 February 2026. FIFA says ticket and broadcast information for Hangzhou will follow closer to kickoff. The October match belongs to the edition named 2027, despite being played in 2026.
