HTV Swing Cup 2026 will add a category for professional golfers for the first time. Thanh Niên reports that the third edition is scheduled for 25–26 December at Tân Sơn Nhất Golf Course in Ho Chi Minh City.

Team competition gains another category

The new Group A is intended for professionals, while amateur golfers continue in Groups B and C. The programme retains team match play through Fourball and Single Match formats.

Organising chief Nguyễn Hải Triều says the expanded field is intended to increase variety and competition while preserving the event's team-sport character.

The announcement describes a scale of more than 250 golfers drawn from single-handicap players, businesspeople and club communities. That is information about the planned programme and registration, not a count of competitors who have already completed December's event.

VGA provides technical support

Organisers also announce technical patronage from the Vietnam Golf Association for the first time. They present it as a step towards stronger sporting and organisational standards, rather than advance certification of competition results.

HTV intends to develop HTV Golf Series into a multi-stop tour. Its final stop at Tân Sơn Nhất would retain the familiar HTV Swing Cup name.

The new elements therefore concern both participation categories and technical backing. The proposed broader tour should be distinguished from the specific two-day year-end event.

The launch establishes preparations for the third season. It does not mean the December tournament has taken place or that a team or individual prize has already been won.
