Thailand coach Anthony Hudson attributed the 2-0 win over Vietnam to bringing a strong squad and executing the match plan. At the post-match press conference on September 29, he thanked his players and described Vietnam as a difficult opponent.

Hudson rejected the suggestion that his contract extension had boosted the players, saying he had not discussed it with them before the game. His praise for the current generation was the coach’s assessment. Thailand had six points from two Group B matches, while Vietnam had three.
