José Mourinho has defended Kylian Mbappé against criticism of his activities during the international break, in an AS interview reported by BongdaPlus. He said the forward had not broken club rules and that a specialist knee examination agreed with Real Madrid’s medical assessment. Looking ahead to Villarreal, Mourinho praised the opposition and said Mbappé was likely to start. That remains the coach’s expectation, rather than a confirmed starting lineup or a declaration that the player has fully recovered.
