Vietnam's overnight dong interbank rate fell to an annualised 0.2% on September 29, down 0.3 percentage points from the previous session. VnExpress reported on September 30 that this was the lowest level in around two years.

Longer tenors did not follow the same decline: one-week to one-month rates remained between 6.1% and 6.5% a year. Interbank rates concern short-term borrowing between banks to manage liquidity, and are distinct from deposit or lending rates offered to individual customers.
