Thousands of residents and visitors gathered at Lâm Viên Square in Đà Lạt on the evening of 6 November for the opening of Vietnam Jazz Heritage Festival 2026. Admission was free, Tuổi Trẻ reported, and the programme moved between traditional and contemporary jazz, funk, soul, pop and Vietnamese folk music.

An international opening lineup

Musician Huy Tuấn directed the programme. The opening-night lineup included Japanese singer and guitarist Lisa Ono, American performers Nik West and Raul Midón, South Korean group JKC, and Vietnamese acts Trần Thu Hà, Yellow Star Bigband and Hoài Sa Band.

The newspaper reported that spectators began gathering around the square at about 5pm, many dressed for Đà Lạt’s cool weather. During the outdoor concert, members of the crowd raised their phone lights and applauded the performers.

One visitor from Ho Chi Minh City told Tuổi Trẻ that hearing jazz without buying a ticket made her trip special. A local resident said it was her first experience of live jazz and that she planned to invite friends to a later event.

Festival schedule and setting

The newspaper’s 7 November report said the festival was scheduled for 6–8 November. A further free programme was scheduled for the evening of 7 November outside the 3/4 cinema in the Hòa Bình area.

Lâm Đồng provincial vice chairman Đinh Văn Tuấn said the festival formed part of the 11th Đà Lạt Flower Festival activities and also marked the first Vietnam Culture Day. He described the event as an opportunity for Vietnamese and international artists to meet and for the city to offer more experiences to residents and visitors.

Đà Lạt is a member of UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network for music. Visitors can check the organisers’ current schedule before travelling to any remaining performances.
