The Australian Firefighters Calendar is returning for 2027 with five editions: dogs, cats, horses, other animals and individual firefighter portraits. According to People and the organisers, the project is entering its 34th year and expanding distribution beyond Australia and the United States into Europe and Asia.

Photographs connect with rescue groups

Organisers say every cat and kitten in the Cat Edition is a rescued animal. Australian groups whose animals appear continue to receive support, including Best Friends Felines. The project also assists Wildcare Incorporated in the Northern Territory, which rehabilitates sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

In the United States, the organisers said USD 2,000 from calendar sales would go to Pasadena Humane Society, alongside further fundraising at CatCon. The 2027 edition will also support Sicily's L’Arca di Natalia sanctuary for the first time. These are announced allocations and plans.

Historical donations have a different scope

The calendar began in 1993 and says it has raised more than USD 3.5 million over its lifetime. That cumulative figure is not the amount raised by the 2027 edition alone.

The report also describes recent assistance to a Victorian volunteer-firefighter recovery fund, helping 23 volunteers who lost homes in bushfires. Previous Hong Kong sales contributed USD 37,000 to animal-welfare organisations.

Demand and donation figures are attributed to the organisers rather than independently audited in the article. The images are photographs produced for a calendar; they do not document an emergency rescue in progress.
