The 31st Busan International Film Festival opened on October 6 for a run ending October 15, Yonhap reported. It is the festival's first edition since receiving A-list accreditation from FIAPF. Organisers announced 247 official selections from 59 countries, including 95 world premieres. A seven-member jury led by Zhang Yimou will choose the Busan Award winners from 14 competition films. The count of 247 refers to the official selection, rather than every film appearing in associated market events or other related programmes.
