Malaysia add three naturalized players to FIFA ASEAN Cup squad
Malaysia have added Bergson, Manuel Hidalgo and Brad Tapp to their 23-man FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 squad after FIFA cleared all three to play. The team will assemble on Sept. 21 and are in Group A with Indonesia, Bangladesh and Singapore.

Malaysia have added three naturalized players to their 23-man FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 squad: Brazil-born striker Bergson, Argentine midfielder Manuel Hidalgo and Australia-Malaysia dual-heritage defender Brad Tapp, VnExpress reported. FIFA cleared all three to play.
The team will assemble on Sept. 21 and travel to Indonesia on Sept. 22. Bergson has scored 196 goals in 197 matches for Johor Darul Tazim. Malaysia are in First Division Group A with Indonesia, Bangladesh and Singapore.
