The mother of Vietnam forward Phạm Gia Hưng died on the morning of October 1 in Đắk Lắk, BongdaPlus reports. The national-team coaching staff had allowed him to leave camp on September 30 to return to his family.

After reaching Hanoi, Gia Hưng received support from Ninh Bình FC to continue home and was able to be with his mother during her final hours. The Vietnam Football Federation and national-team members extended their condolences to the striker and his family.
