A2O Lite's debut single Neon reached number one on Melon's Top 100 chart 29 hours after release before falling to sixth the next morning. Yonhap reported the milestone on October 15 for the nine-member girl group produced by Lee Soo-man's A2O Entertainment.
A chart milestone with a changing position
The song arrived at 6pm on October 13 and led the chart by 11pm on October 14, using the Korean times reported by the source. The achievement therefore came less than two days after release.
Yonhap also recorded its subsequent fall to sixth on the morning of October 15. Soyeon's collaboration with Kian84 had returned to first place by 10am, so Neon's earlier peak should be distinguished from its later ranking.
A2O Lite includes members from South Korea, China, Japan and Thailand. Lee introduced the group alongside 15-member boy band A2O Soul at a media event in Goyang on October 12.
A production drawing on earlier K-pop styles
At three minutes and 28 seconds, Neon emphasises synchronised choreography, coordinated outfits, high notes and a dance break. Yonhap contrasted that approach with recent short tracks designed around social-video dance challenges.
The song was produced by Yoo Young-jin, whose earlier work with Lee at SM Entertainment included acts such as BoA, TVXQ, Girls' Generation, SHINee and aespa.
The launch follows the expiry of Lee's three-year non-compete agreement earlier in 2026. He accepted that restriction when selling his SM stake to Hybe in February 2023, according to the report. The ranking provides an early measure of the new group's reception, with future positions subject to subsequent chart updates.
