Brazil, DPR Korea, Japan and Nigeria have reached the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in Morocco. FIFA's 2 November statistical review notes that the tournament's last four will contain no European team for the first time.

The figures are a pre-semi-final snapshot, highlighting different routes to this stage rather than a final assessment of the competition.

Scoring experience and heavy workloads

DPR Korea's Yu Jong-hyang has a tournament-record 15 goals across two editions: eight in the previous event and seven on the way to this year's last four. Kim Won-sim has 13 across the same editions.

Brazil have had nine different scorers in Morocco. Goalkeeper Nathy and defender Isa Rech have played all 519 minutes available so far, with six Nigerians close behind on 514 minutes. Those workloads show the continuity of personnel through their respective campaigns.

Contrasting defensive tests

Japan have conceded only once, to Kenya's Brenda Achieng in the round of 16. Brazil's Nathy has made 27 saves but recorded one clean sheet, while DPR Korea goalkeeper Kim Son-gyong has made five saves alongside three shutouts.

Japan coach Sadayoshi Shirai is approaching another landmark. His 14 matches in charge at the competition will become 15 in the semi-final against DPR Korea, equalling Kenneth Zseremeta's record. Either the final or the bronze-medal match would then give him the outright mark.

The next stage is the semi-finals themselves. FIFA's figures do not establish a champion; they frame the tests still facing the four teams as attacking output, defensive resilience and squad depth meet in the deciding rounds.
