South Korean outlet OSEN has investigated edited videos that attached misleading captions to footage of national-team captain Son Heung-min and his teammates. Tuổi Trẻ reported that one video making an allegation of Son being isolated had more than two million views when OSEN examined it on 4 November.
Footage and captions
Tuổi Trẻ, citing OSEN, put the video's engagement at approximately 17,000 likes and 4,900 comments. The engagement figures reflect the counts recorded in the reported investigation.
The footage showed real South Korea training scenes, but captions assigned meanings to ordinary actions. A look in Son's direction and a separate scene of players laughing were presented as signs of hostility. According to OSEN's account in Tuổi Trẻ, the video provided no direct evidence for its allegation.
Another video attributed a statement to defender Kim Min-jae. OSEN said it found no recording or interview confirming that he had made the remark. The absence of support for those edited claims does not establish every detail of the team's private relationships.
Response and the next fixtures
Tuổi Trẻ reports that players mentioned in the videos received hostile social-media comments and that the relevant YouTube channel was deleted after Korean reporting challenged the content. The paper also cited broadcaster YTN as saying a single image from a match against Ecuador could not establish a dispute.
Interim coach Roberto Moreno selected Son and the players concerned for November matches against Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the report says, and confirmed that Son remains captain. Those selections are team news, not proof of the players' private relationships.
