Swansea missed their opportunity to lead the Championship after Portsmouth struck twice in added time to win 3-1 at Fratton Park. Terry Devlin scored twice in a match that extended Portsmouth's unbeaten run to six games, according to The Guardian's roundup.
A late swing at the top
Devlin put the hosts ahead before the interval, but Zan Vipotnik won and converted an 85th-minute penalty. The equaliser lasted only until the second minute of stoppage time, when Devlin finished from a corner. Tommy Waddingham added the third six minutes later.
Middlesbrough consequently remained at the summit with their match in the round still to come at the time of the report. Birmingham strengthened their own run by beating Millwall 3-0. Alex Cochrane scored inside the opening minute, followed before half-time by Max Bird and Jay Stansfield. It was Birmingham's sixth victory in eight games.
Three goals before the interval
At Preston, Sydie Peck's first-half hat-trick carried Sheffield United to a 3-2 victory. Leo Leroy had given the hosts an early lead. Peck equalised with an intended cross, struck from outside the area and completed his treble just before the break. Callum Lang's 77th-minute goal made the closing stages closer.
Norwich overwhelmed Derby 4-0, with Anthony Musaba, Paris Maghoma and Darlin Yongwa scoring before substitute Jovon Makama completed the result. Stoke beat Blackburn 2-1, while Samuel Edozie cancelled out Isaac Price's penalty as Southampton drew 1-1 at West Brom.
Elsewhere, Watford defeated Lincoln 1-0, Bolton won 1-0 at Charlton and QPR recovered to draw 1-1 with Burnley. Derby's next home meeting with Bolton is the next fixture highlighted in the report.
