Quang Hải ruled out of FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 as Minh Khoa receives call-up
VFF confirmed that Quang Hải will miss the tournament with a left ankle injury, while Võ Hoàng Minh Khoa has been called up. Vietnam are scheduled to face the Philippines, Thailand and Pakistan from September 26 to October 2, but no return date has been announced.
The Vietnam Football Federation confirmed on September 22 that Nguyễn Quang Hải will miss the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup with a left ankle injury. Coach Kim Sang Sik has called up Becamex TP.HCM midfielder Võ Hoàng Minh Khoa.
Vietnam are scheduled to travel to Indonesia on September 23, face the Philippines at Bandung’s Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on September 26, then play Thailand on September 29 and Pakistan on October 2. VFF has not announced a return date for Quang Hải.
