Recording Academy chief Harvey Mason Jr. has confirmed that the Asian Pop category will proceed for the 2027 Grammys, Variety reports. The decision follows discussions with the music community about mixed responses to the new category.
Mason acknowledged that the conclusion would not satisfy everyone. The announcement concerns the next ceremony's award structure; it identifies no nominees or winners and does not establish that BTS has changed its position on submitting music.
