Cristiano Ronaldo has been provisionally suspended from national-team action while the Portuguese Football Federation investigates his departure from the squad, VnExpress reports. The case was referred for an urgent disciplinary investigation on October 10. The FPF has not announced a final sanction. Ronaldo has apologised to teammates and supporters and expressed a wish to continue representing Portugal. Reported possibilities for the length of a suspension should therefore not be treated as a confirmed final punishment.
