SCB has reduced the daily limit for personal customers using Napas 247 fast transfers through mobile and internet banking to VND20 million. VnExpress reported on 3 November that the change took effect from the end of 30 October.
The bank attributed the adjustment to efforts to make electronic transactions safer and protect accounts against fraud and account takeover. Customers needing to transfer more than the new limit are directed to contact a branch or transaction office for assistance.
A change affecting two electronic channels
The notice identifies personal-customer Napas 247 transfers through Mobile Banking and Internet Banking. The new ceiling therefore matters to customers planning larger payments through those services.
For comparison, VnExpress said many banks use standard online daily limits of VND200 million to VND400 million. Some allow customers to set considerably higher limits, especially for premium accounts. Those arrangements are offered by the individual banks concerned.
Earlier changes provide context
SCB previously set a VND100 million daily ceiling for personal customers’ Napas 247 and counter transfers in late 2024, the outlet reported. Its limits have changed several times, including a period when the maximum was VND10 million.
The bank was formed through the merger of SCB, First Bank and Vietnam Tin Nghia Bank. It has been under special control since October 2022. After numerous branch closures, it had ten transaction locations by mid-October 2026, according to the report.
For customers whose planned transfer exceeds the current online limit, the next step specified in SCB’s notice is to seek assistance from its branches or transaction offices about their particular requirements.
