Sichuan Yuanda Meile returns to the 2026 FIBA WBL Asia tournament in Bengaluru seeking another continental title. FIBA's team profile links its 2024 success with a renewed domestic championship and new reinforcements.

An earlier title and a new qualifying path

Sichuan won all three games at the inaugural event in Chengdu, concluding with a 74-69 victory over Fujitsu Red Wave. Han Xu earned the 2024 MVP award.

That is historical context rather than a 2026 title announcement or confirmation of the current roster.

Sichuan lost the 2024/25 WCBA final to Guangdong, which then won WBL Asia 2025. The continental championships therefore belonged to different Chinese clubs.

Sichuan reclaimed the WCBA crown in 2025/26 through a five-game series against Shanxi, securing its return and a third domestic title in four seasons.

Experience joins the existing core

Chennedy Carter is among the reinforcements for October 20–25. With Al Ula in 2025, she led WBL Asia scoring at 29 points per game, including 45 points, 11 rebounds and six assists against Busan BNK Sum. Those are previous-team performances.

Sara Blicavs adds international and WCBA experience, with FIBA highlighting her Australia contributions. Gao Song is identified among the local leaders.

The combination creates possibilities rather than a completed result. Becoming the first two-time WBL Asia champion remains an objective that depends on performances in Bengaluru, separate from the established 2024 title and recent domestic success.
