Thu Hà Ceri has returned to television as Thơ in Căn nhà không mái che on VTV3, more than two years after Đi giữa trời rực rỡ. The Tày actress, born in 2002, again plays a young character, but with a different emotional background from her earlier role as Pu.
A fictional family shaped by conflict
Thơ is sixteen in the story. Her father Bình, played by Doãn Quốc Đam, gambles and abuses her mother Hạnh, played by Huyền Lizzie. Witnessing conflict forces Thơ toward early independence while she retains affection for her family. These events belong to the fictional plot, not the actress's own family history.
Thu Hà Ceri said she initially found it awkward to call Huyền Lizzie her mother because they are only twelve years apart in real life. Trial scenes helped them establish a working relationship and portray the mother–daughter connection.
Developing everyday performance skills
The actress said her director considered emotional scenes a relative strength but wanted improvement in ordinary interactions. She feels her reserved lifestyle has limited experience and communication skills, which she is trying to address.
Before this project, leg and spinal injuries interrupted her work. After recovery, she received film offers but waited for a suitable role. She also works in photographic modelling and advertising.
Earlier credits include Thương ngày nắng về 2, Món quà của cha, Lật mặt 7 and Móng vuốt. Online appearance compliments are reported audience reactions rather than measured reach. The role gives her another setting in which to develop both emotionally intense scenes and more ordinary interactions.
