An analysis published by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade argues that businesses should approach the CPTPP as a source of materials, components and partners as well as export markets. Official Ngo Chung Khanh highlighted supply-chain diversification, while an electronics-industry representative pointed to differing technical, environmental and traceability requirements across customers. The article recommends reviewing suppliers, documentation and logistics together. Preferential tariffs depend on meeting the agreement’s rules of origin and providing evidence of compliance. Manufacturing a product in Vietnam alone does not automatically make every shipment eligible for those preferences.
