Vietnam’s Association for the Promotion and Development of Cinema and the Văn Miếu–Quốc Tử Giám Cultural and Scientific Activity Center held a Hanoi symposium on Sept. 15, “Cinema and Heritage.” The event formed part of activities toward the site’s 950th anniversary, with Deputy Minister Tạ Quang Đông attending.

Three sessions discussed heritage as a source of film talent, filming with conservation, and creative-industry opportunities. Tạ urged responsible use that respects authenticity, while stronger talent development and links between cinema and tourism could bring heritage into contemporary life.
