Cửa Nam ward is connecting Hanoi's architectural heritage with performance and online audiences through Ký ức Hà Nội – Những câu chuyện kể bằng âm nhạc. Báo Văn Hóa describes the programme as the 11th event in the Sound of Heritage – Chamber Music Salon series.
Music and memories of the city
Composer Dương Thụ joined pianist Lưu Hồng Quang and performers Cảnh Trần, Phương Thảo, Lan Quỳnh and Trường Linh. The programme brought together music by Liszt, Mozart, Puccini and Rossini with well-known songs about Hanoi.
Lưu Hồng Quang performed Những năm tháng hành hương. Vocal selections included Người Hà Nội, Hướng về Hà Nội, Bài ca Hà Nội and Mong về Hà Nội, alongside opera excerpts including material from The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute.
Dương Thụ recalled a difficult childhood and work taking him through markets, past the Đen ferry landing, over Long Biên Bridge and towards Châu Quỳ. Tree-lined streets and breezes from the Red River remained vivid parts of his memories.
The historical villa setting was combined with live coverage on Facebook and TikTok, extending access beyond the audience physically present.
Further cultural spaces remain a development aim
Cửa Nam ward deputy chairwoman Trịnh Ngọc Trâm said the first performance had been organised in October 2025 and Dương Thụ had accompanied the initiative over the following year.
She highlighted the villa at 49 Trần Hưng Đạo among local cultural resources. The ward issued a decision promoting cultural-industry development in September 2026 and aims to work with artists and cultural and architectural specialists on more activities.
Book Street was also mentioned as a potential setting for future programmes. Connections between performance, heritage experiences, digital communication and the night-time economy remain areas for study and development. They should be distinguished from the music events and livestreaming already described in the report.
