The crew of the film Trai buon nguoi sponsored a real ox-racing festival in An Giang and obtained organizers' permission to film during breaks between races. Director Tony Duong Bao Anh told Tuoi Tre that the team had prepared for the sequence over several years rather than relying solely on visual effects.
The film had earned more than VND 75 billion by midday September 27, according to the report. That was a point-in-time box-office figure, not a final total; filming at a real festival does not make the movie's plot a real event.
